COURSE OVERVIEW
The Provide First Aid course (previously known as Senior First Aid/Level 2 Apply First Aid) is the minimum requirement under the Workplace Health and Safety Legislation for a workplace first aider. However, all persons are encouraged to complete a Provide First Aid course, regardless of their work requirements, as it could help you save a life. Provide First Aid gives you the basic skills and knowledge to assist in any emergency situation until further help arrives. You will be trained by qualified trainers and partake in practical training to learn what to do for different emergencies. This course includes CPR training (HLTAID009).
LICENSING / REGULATORY INFORMATION
It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) that HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is completed every 12 months to remain current with the ARC guidelines and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid needs to be completed every 3 years.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A general command of spoken and written English, as well as the ability to write a simple report is required.
Participants must have basic computer skills and access to a reliable computer with internet and email access. As an assessment requirement of the HLTAID009 unit, participants must be able to perform at least 2 minutes (5 cycles) of CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin that is placed on the floor.
ENROLMENT
When enrolling into a QMTS Training short course it is a requirement that all enrolment documentation is received before enrolment confirmation can occur. The required documents and information are listed below:
- Pre-Enrolment Form (Personal Details)
- Enrolment/Induction Checklist
- Copy of Driver’s Licence (front and back) or Passport
Please also note that Students will be required to provide QMTS Training with their Unique Student Identifier (USI) before enrolment can be completed.
QUALITY and COMPLIANCE
QMTS Training is the RTO responsible for the quality and compliance of the nationally recognised training being delivered and is also the RTO that will issue any qualification or statement of attainment certificate to eligible learners.
